CELEBRATE Achievement
All nine of our schools have been recognized as California Distinguished Schools, and three as National Blue Ribbon Schools. The Los Altos School District is consistently ranked among the top one percent of the over 1000 school districts in all of California, demonstrating excellence in math, science, language and history.
While we take great pride in test scores, they are only a part of how we measure success. LASD is passionate about providing the best education possible for our students – one that shapes them into creative thinkers, collaborative problem solvers, and responsible young citizens. We achieve this through a rigorous academic program, a nurturing environment and a commitment to character development.
The Academic Performance Index (API) is a measurement of academic performance and progress of individual schools in California. It is one of the main components of the Public Schools Accountability Act passed by the California legislature in 1999. API scores ranges from a low of 200 to a high of 1000.
